Simply Filtered Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Simply Filtered Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or using our services, you agree to the following terms.
In plain terms:
Simply Filtered provides professional surveys, advice, and targeted services to help identify and reduce damp, mould, and air quality issues.
We focus on understanding why problems occur and recommending proportionate next steps. We do not carry out intrusive investigations or general building work, and no service can guarantee that mould will never return.
Where specialist works are required, we explain the reasons clearly and you are free to use our trusted specialists or choose your own contractors.
Our full Terms & Conditions below explain the scope and limitations of our services in more detail.
1. Scope of Services
Simply Filtered provides professional services relating to:
Damp & mould surveys and assessments
Ventilation advice, surveys, and system installation
Antimicrobial fogging and hygiene treatments
Survey-led guidance on proportionate remedial works
Our approach is ventilation-aware and focused on understanding moisture behaviour and indoor air quality before recommending any intervention.
What We Do / What We Don’t Do
What We Do
Identify likely causes of damp, condensation, and mould
Assess ventilation performance and airflow
Provide clear, proportionate recommendations
Offer specialist fogging and ventilation services where appropriate
What We Don’t Do
Carry out destructive investigations
Provide guarantees that mould will never return
Act as building contractors or structural engineers
Certify legal compliance for disputes or claims
2. Surveys & Assessments
2.1 Nature of Surveys
Our damp, mould, and ventilation surveys are non-invasive visual and environmental assessments designed to identify probable causes of moisture, condensation, or mould within accessible areas of the property.
They are not:
Structural surveys
Leak detection surveys
Certified damp-proofing surveys
2.2 Access & Limitations
Assessments are limited to accessible internal areas and relevant external elevations at the time of inspection
No destructive or intrusive investigation will be carried out
Where areas cannot be accessed, findings may rely on reasonable professional assumptions based on available evidence
Environmental readings reflect conditions at the time of inspection only and may vary seasonally
Any access limitations and their potential impact on findings will be recorded within the survey report, and further investigation may be recommended where appropriate
3. Ventilation Advice & Installation
Ventilation recommendations and installations are based on:
Property layout and use
Observed moisture behaviour
Industry standards and manufacturer guidance
We do not guarantee that ventilation upgrades alone will resolve all damp or mould issues, particularly where underlying moisture sources remain unresolved. Ventilation improvements are intended to help manage humidity and indoor air quality and may form part of a wider solution where appropriate.4. Antimicrobial Fogging
4.1 Purpose
Antimicrobial fogging is designed to reduce airborne and surface-level microbial contamination, including mould spores. It does not remove contaminated building materials or resolve underlying damp issues.
4.2 Preconditions
All leaks, water ingress, and contaminated materials must be addressed prior to fogging
Properties must be vacant during treatment and for the advised re-entry period
4.3 Limitations
Mould is present in all environments and cannot be fully eradicated
Fogging does not prevent future mould growth if moisture or ventilation issues persist
Any concerns relating to the fogging process must be reported within 48 hours
5. Property Recovery & Support and Third-Party Contractors
Where remedial works are recommended:
Recommendations are based solely on survey findings
You are under no obligation to use any contractor we may suggest
Any works carried out by third parties are separate contracts between you and those parties
Any recommendations are made independently of the works themselves and are not influenced by commercial arrangements with third-party contractors. Simply Filtered accepts no liability for the quality, outcome, or cost of third-party works.
6. Reports & Recommendations
All reports and recommendations are provided:
For informational and guidance purposes only
To support informed decision-making
Without guarantee of outcomes where underlying conditions change or are not addressed
Reports should not be relied upon as legal certification, compliance confirmation, or warranty documentation.
No Guarantee of Permanent Prevention
Due to the complex and variable nature of buildings, occupant behaviour, weather, and ventilation use, no survey, treatment, or installation can guarantee the permanent prevention of damp or mould.
7. Payments & Cancellations
Upon receiving an invoice, payment is due in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee
Survey reports are typically issued within 5 working days unless otherwise stated
8. Health, Safety & Property Condition
You must ensure:
Safe access to the property
That known hazards (e.g. asbestos, unsafe electrics, aggressive pets) are disclosed in advance
We reserve the right to withdraw from a site if conditions are unsafe.
9. Client Responsibilities
By booking our services, you agree to:
Provide accurate information about the property and its use
Disclose known issues such as leaks, flooding, or previous mould events
Ensure safe and reasonable access to the property
Follow post-service guidance provided
Failure to do so may limit the effectiveness of our services and our ability to stand by recommendations given.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
We accept no liability for indirect or consequential loss
Our liability is limited to the value of the service provided
We are not responsible for outcomes resulting from failure to act on advice given
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Data Protection & Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
